New Here?

    Welcome to Byron United Church

We are a multicultural, evangelical church in London, Ontario.  We worship in-person on Sunday at 10 AM at 420 Boler Road, but you can also watch us live on YouTube.

We understand that visiting a new church for the first time can feel a little overwhelming. We hope that this page will provide insight into how we worship the Lord on Sunday mornings as a church family. You will learn where to park, what to wear, how we worship through music, and much more.

    Parking

We have a parking lot at the front and back of our church, with accessible parking spaces (an accessible elevator is available in the church as well); if our parking lot is full, you are more than welcome to park at the RBC Bank plaza, directly across the street.

    What to Wear

Don't feel obligated to dress in your Sunday best, unless you feel led to do so.

Some of our church members wear suits, business casual attire or more casual wear, like jeans and t-shirts.

    What & When

Worship starts at 10 AM, and typically includes news and celebratory announcements, traditional and modern worship music, prayer and a 20-minute sermon preached by Pastor Greg BrawnThe worship service typically ends at 11 AM; but, we sometimes go a little longer.

    Music

Song lyrics are displayed on a screen. You are more than welcome to sing along if you feel so led, but it's not mandatory. Do what makes you feel comfortable. If able to do so, we encourage our congregrants to stand while singing; however, the congregation remains seated when worship music is sung by the choir only. Don't worry. Pastor Greg will clearly direct people when to sit or stand.

    Nursery

Parents may bring their nursery-aged children to the nursery before the 10 AM worship service starts. It is located on the lower level of the church, directly below the sanctuary and is in the same hallway as the Sunday school and Sunday Youth room.

If you would prefer to bring your nursery-aged children to the worship service, you are welcome to do so.

    Sunday School

Sunday school is provided each week. This is how it works: Your entire family, including your children, sits down with the rest of the congregation. When we start singing, "We are marching in the light of God," all the children and youth head to the front and go downstairs with Andrea (our Sunday School Coordinator) and Noah (our Youth Leader). Your children and youth will receive faithful, Bible-based teaching and experiences. At the end of the worship service, you will go downstairs to pick up your children.

    Sunday Youth

All youth are welcome to participate in our Sunday Youth program, which is led by our Youth Leader Noah. They will receive Bible-based teaching in a faithful and fun way. To join, simply go into the church worship service and wait for us to sing, "We are marching in the light of God." At which point, your youth will meet up with Noah at the front and head downstairs to the Sunday Youth room.

    Flag Display

Since we are a multicultural church, we have a display of flags to represent all the countries from where our members originated.

Once you begin attending, we'd be delighted if you would add your home country's flag, which we will provide for you.

    After Worship Fellowship

At the end of our worship service, everyone is welcomed to join us downstairs in the gym for conversation with coffee, tea, juice, donuts and Timbits. On special celebrations, we also have cake. We are a church that likes pastries and breaking bread together.

    The Lord's Supper

Once every two months, we also celebrate the Lord's Supper, also known as Holy Communion. You do not need to be an active member of our church in order to receive the Communion elements.
