Are you looking for Good News?

    Let's face it.

We live in a world that is connected to a constant stream of bad news. And it's exhausting!

That's why we've decided to create our Good News for Life event. It's a time to disconnect from the depressing news cycle and focus instead on Jesus Christ, the true source of hope and peace in this world and beyond.

At Good News for Life, our hope is that you will:

    • Feel uplifted and rejuvenated listening to sermons, testimonies, and worship music centered on hope.
    • Understand why the work of Jesus Christ on the cross is so powerful and why His crucifixion truly matters.
    • Discover how trusting Jesus Christ as your Saviour can give you true meaning and purpose in life.
    • Be able to find true rest and peace regardless of external factors.
    • Enjoy fellowship and delicious food with a community of welcoming people.

Please note: Registration is required for the event on Saturday, June 13. Brunch is available for $10.

    Who's speaking at the event?

    Rev. Dr. Kimberly A. Heath

    The Right Rev. Kimberly Heath

The Right Rev. Dr. Kimberly A. Heath is the 45th Moderator of The United Church of Canada. She was born in Lusaka, Zambia, where her parents taught school, but grew up in small towns and cities in Canada.

After studying history at McGill University, she earned her Master of Divinity at Emmanuel College, before being ordained in 1999. Her Doctorate in Ministry studies focused on preaching, particularly where it can effect transformation, within and in the world, through small steps and minor shifts. She began her nearly three decades of active ministry with the people of Claresholm-Stavely Pastoral Charge in rural southern Alberta. Since 2007, she has served the people of Wall Street United Church in eastern Ontario.

Her active ministry has led her to working within the wider church, chairing Pastoral Relations in Foothills Presbytery, serving as President of Bay of Quinte Conference, and working on the Eastern Ontario Outaouais Regional Council Transition Commission. She also inspires and nurtures church leaders' faith through clergy retreats, workshops and preaching conferences.

She lives in Brockville, Ontario, with her husband and youngest of her four children ranging in age from 15 to 27 years and Salty the dog. She is bilingual and enjoys reading, sailing, and open-water swimming.

    Headshot of Michelle Daniel

    Michelle Daniel

Michelle Daniel’s journey is a testament to the fact that God’s GPS often includes unexpected detours! Originally from South Africa, Michelle’s life took a massive turn in 2000 when a Canadian vacation transformed into a calling to support a church plant in Mississauga.

Having navigated the ups and downs of walking away from her faith as a teenager and returning after a life-altering crossroads, Michelle is passionate about sharing the power of a deep, personal relationship with Jesus Christ. She believes wholeheartedly in a faith that sustains us through every season of life. Today, Michelle is a dynamic business owner, a proud mother of three twenty-somethings, and an active worshipper at a United Church. She brings authenticity, warmth, and real-life wisdom to everything she does.
